Roadwork In Delta, Lamar and Red River Counties

PARIS – Motorists traveling in Delta, Lamar and Red River Counties in November and December should be prepared to slow down when they encounter work crews on the roadways. Texas Department of Transportation officials recently cleared contractor Mutual Entrepreneurial Concepts LLC, Katy, Texas, to begin crack seal work on some roads in these counties.

The contractor will begin work in Lamar County on Nov. 7 and will progress through Delta and Red River Counties as the crack seal work’s completion.

TxDOT officials said the contractor should finish this project by Dec. 31, 2016, weather permitting, at an estimated cost of more than $119,000. They advised motorists that temporary, one-lane closures may occasionally be in place while the work is underway, especially during daylight hours.

TxDOT officials requested that motorists pay special attention to traffic control devices and flaggers when they encounter work crews, and reduce their speed accordingly in work zones on area roadways.
