7 on 7 HS Football Plus Rangers Win Big Over Angels

Paris – In the softball region two finals North Lamar will take on district 15-4A rival, Pleasant Grove. All games can be heard live on MIX 107.7. Game one is tonight at Texas A&M-Commerce at 7pm. Game two is tomorrow at 6pm and game three would follow if necessary. North Lamar and Pleasant Grove also have Commerce booked for Saturday should weather cause them to delay the series.

The Panther baseball team will take on 2nd ranked Argyle in a best of three series in the region 2 semi finals. Games on KOYN 93.9 will begin tomorrow in Prosper at 6:30. Game two is Saturday at 3pm and game three would follow if needed.

Mount Pleasant – Mt. Pleasant High School will host the first Students Sports Physical Clinic Friday, May 27th at Willie Williams Gym from 2:30pm to 6pm. Schools around Titus County and Titus Regional Medical Center have joined together to help ensure that local student athletes get their physicals done. The free clinic will be open to all students from Mt. Pleasant, Chapel Hill, Winfield and Harts Bluff from the 7th grade and up.

The Mt. Pleasant Tiger football team is scheduled to begin 7 on 7 play this evening at Paris High School. Teams participating include the Tigers, Rivercrest, Paris, Chisum, Prairiland, Detroit, and Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

Sulphur Springs – The annual Blue and White football scrimmage at Sulphur Springs Prim Stadium is scheduled to be played tonight night at 6pm. Originally, Head Coach Greg Owens planed make up days in the case of this evening being rained out, however the plan is now to play this evening regardless of weather. In the case of rain, players and coach will move the scrimmage inside to the multi-purpose building. There will be no cost for admission this evening.

On Saturday the team will head to Marshall to take part in a 7 on 7 tournament at East Texas Baptist University, sponsored by the Division 3 school.

Yesterday afternoon the Texas Rangers slug out a win over the LA Angels 15-9. For the second straight game, Nomar Mazara had the big blast. The Rangers take two out of three from the Angels to improve to 27-20 on the season and stand in 2nd place in the AL West behind Seattle. Texas will have the day off today before returning to Globe Life Park tomorrow to face the Pittsburg Pirates.

The Cleveland Cavaliers take a 3-2 series lead in the Eastern Conference Finals after throttling Toronto 116-78. LeBron James led the way for Cleveland with 23 points, eight assists and six rebounds. Game six is tomorrow at 7:30. The Golden State Warriors face elimination tonight, trailing the OKC Thunder 3 games to 1. Tip off tonight to the West Finals is set for 8pm.

And in the NHL the San Jose Sharks punch their ticket to the Stanley Cup Finals after eliminating St. Louis 5-2. The Sharks win the series four games to two and will meet the winner of tonight’s game seven between Pittsburg and Tampa Bay. Puck drop is at 7pm.
