A Fatal Crash Near Harleton

Troopers responded to a one-vehicle fatal crash at approximately 12:48 Thursday morning on CR-4310 in Harrison County. It occurred seven miles west of the City of Harleton. The driver of a 2003 Ford F-150, identified as Melvin Bradshaw, 24, was traveling south on CR-4310 at an excessive rate of speed and lost control as he entered a curve. The vehicle went into a side skid and struck a tree with its right side before coming to rest. Paramedics transported the driver to Good Shepard–Marshall. Authorities say the passenger Bobbie Renee Burke, 17, of Gladewater, died in the crash. Clarice Watkins pronounced Ms. Burke dead at the scene. Officials took her body to Meadowbrook Funeral Home in Marshall. Paramedics transported another passenger, Shalynn Tipton, 19, of Longview, to Good Shepard–Marshall. Also transported was passenger Kyler McBride, 21, of Hallsville to Good Shepard–Marshall.
