Appellate Court Upholds Tiede Sentence

The Sixth Court of Appeals in Texarkana has upheld the 99-year prison sentence given to a mortician who was the subject of the 2011 film “Bernie.” Bernie Tiede was convicted in 1999 of murdering 81-year-old Marjorie Nugent, whose body was found in his freezer at the home they shared in Carthage.
