Babysitter Falls Asleep

Hurst

Commerce Police arrested Kaitlynn Hurst, 19, of Garland, after an apartment fire. Hurst was babysitting two small children and police learned that she fell asleep after taking non-prescription drugs before the fire. All three managed to make it out of the smoke-filled apartment, but police arrested Hurst for abandon and endangering a child. She is in Hunt County Jail with a $20,000 bond. The batteries were missing from the smoke detectors in the apartment. The firefighters contained the blaze to one bedroom.
