A federal detention hearing was held Friday for Dr. Howard Gregg Diamond, the North Texas physician arrested last week on multiple drug related violations. Diamonds attorneys argued that he should be released on personal recognizance, but federal prosecutors claimed he was a flight risk. The judge did not rule on Diamond’s detention and he was remanded to the Fannin County jail. Prosecutors say seven people died from overdoses in connection with Diamond’s prescriptions. Diamond operated clinics in Paris and Sherman and had patients from throughout the area.
