East Texas Football Great Dies

An East Texas football great has died in Denver at the age of 74. Gladewater native Winston Hill, a four-time AFL All-Star and four-time Pro Bowler spent 14 seasons with the Jets and one with the Los Angeles Rams. He was instrumental in the Jets win over the Colts in the Superbowl.  Hill attended Weldon High School in Gladewater, prior to integration, where his father was the principal.
