Art Lessons
2008-02-25 to 2008-12-31
The YWCA Art Program is proud to welcome new art instructor, Ashley Francis, a talented young artist born and raised in the Paris Area. She attained a BFA in studio art at Abilene Christian University in 2006. Following graduation she lived in West Palm Beach, Florida while creating displays for Anthropologie. Upon returning to Paris, Francis started a business called Pigeon’s Daughter which will soon be an online store hosting her own artwork & handmade goods. She is also doing Graduate studies at Texas A & M – Commerce. Ashley loves to create things in almost any medium to be found and looks forward to sharing that passion with students, “ Art education is a great way to boost confidence, start conversation, get your wheels to turn in directions they don’t usually turn, or maybe even impress someone at a museum someday. It’s something you can’t do wrong, there’s always a new solution to be found.” Art lessons are available both day and evening, Monday through Friday. Each class is 55 minutes, and students are encouraged to attend weekly classes, although a flexible schedule can be arranged. Classes are $12 per class or $45 per month when scheduled weekly For information on scheduling art lessons, contact Program Coordinator Duska Pardue at 903-785-5221 or by email, duska_pardue@sbcglobal.net.

Family Life Center Dedication
2008-05-16 to 2008-05-18
The First Baptist Church of Bogata would like to invite everyone in the community to join us in celebrating the completion of the new Family Life Center. Through lots of prayer, dedication and love of others our vision for this building is strengthened each day. Our celebration will begin on Friday, May 16th from 7pm-11pm with the youth (6th-12th) and young adults and continue on Saturday, May 17th from 6pm-10pm with the mature adult ages. Food will be provided on both nights as well as many activities geared to the different age groups such as basketball, volleyball, dominoes, card games and board games. Both nights will also be provided with great entertainment. The youth and young adults will enjoy a christian band while the mature adults will be entertained by an instrumentalist/soloist, both from around the Paris area. Sunday, May 18th the morning will begin with our regular scheduled services (Sunday school begins at 9:45am and worship service will start at 11:00am) and end with the Family Life Center dedication service. It is the desire of First Baptist Church of Bogata to dedicate this building to the service of the Lord. We would love to share in this celebration with our family, friends and community. The nursery will be provided for those who will need this service on either night.
