A Flash Flood Watch is in effect Thursday and Thursday night for much of North Texas. The area is along and southeast of a line from Sherman, Fort Worth to Comanche. Showers and thunderstorms will occur as an upper-level storm system approaches from the west. Showers and storms will gradually increase in coverage today. Some storms could produce heavy rain that may lead to flash flooding. Recent heavy rainfall events have the soil saturated. Therefore, one to two inches of rainfall in a short time could lead to runoff and flash flooding in many areas. Also, flooding may occur along creeks, streams, and rivers.
