Friday Night Football Plus Cowboys Battle Cardinals Tonight

Week four of the Texas High School Football season Is in the books.
Paris – The Rivercrest Rebels win a Red River Valley battle, pulling away in the 2nd half to beat Cooper, 34-16. The Paris Wildcats spoil homecoming in Pittsburg, 38-20. Wolfe City defeats Detroit, 14-6. North Lamar falls to Pottsboro, 14-11. Chisum loses to Queen City, 42-21. Prairiland is upended by Celeste, 47-21. Clarksville gets throttled by second ranked Tenaha, and the Honey Grove Warriors fall to Bells, 48-20.
Mount Pleasant – The Mt Vernon Tigers win big on the road over Ore City to remain unbeaten for the season, 47-7.  The Rivercrest Rebels also stay undefeated after a win over Cooper, 34-16. The Hughes Springs Mustangs take down Hooks, 39-16. The Paul Pewitt Brahmas route New Boston, 51-22. Winnsboro defeats Sabine in a defensive battle, 12-7. Daingerfield gets edged out by White Oak, 29-28. Pittsburg comes up short against Paris, 38-20, and the Carthage Bulldogs pull away in the second half against the Gilmer Buckeyes, 48-28.
Sulphur Springs – The Como-Pickton Eagles remain unbeaten after routing Overton Friday night, 34-6. The Mt Vernon Tigers are also undefeated after a road win over Ore City, 47-7. Quinlan Ford shuts out Howe, 28-0. Cumby crushes Trenton, 56-20. Winnsboro wins a defensive battle over Sabine, 12-7. The Lone Oak Buffalo dominate Whitewright, 47-0 and Greenville beat Seagoville, 14-8. The Sulphur Springs Wildcats fall to Whitehouse, 28-6. Commerce loses to Bullard, 44-24.
The Texas Rangers watch their playoff hopes dwindle away after getting swept in Oakland, including an 8-1 loss last night. The lone Ranger run came on a Nomar Mazara solo home run, his 20th of the season [AUDIO]. Texas is now 5.5 games out of the final Wildcard spot in the American League with seven games remaining. The Rangers open up a series at home tonight against the Astros [on KPLT 1490am and 96.3fm]. First pitch is set for 7:05 pm.
The Dallas Cowboys take to the field in the desert against the Arizona Cardinals. Both teams enter the game with a 1-1 record on the season with the Cardinals coming off a win over the Colts while the Cowboys were crushed by Denver. Will Dak Prescott, Zeke Elliott, Sean Lee and the Cowboys bounce back?  Kickoff tonight is set for 7:30.
And in the College Football AP Polls, Alabama stays on top, followed by Clemson. Oklahoma checks in at No. 3. Penn State and USC round out the top five. TCU is 9th, and Oklahoma State falls to 15.
