High School Basketball Playoffs in Today’s Local Sports

Paris – Last night in the bi-district round of the boys high school basketball playoffs the Clarksville Tigers dismantle Ore City 73-36 to advance to the area round. The Chisum Mustangs saw their season come to an end at the hands of Daingerfield 58-35.  Tonight on 101.9 KBUS, the 5th ranked Paris Wildcats face Spring Hill at Emory Rains high school. The Wildcats finished the season at 30-2 overall and 10-0 in district play. Pre-game begins at 7:15 with a 7:30 tip.  The North Lamar Panthers have won six of their last seven games in district competition.  North Lamar playoff basketball can be heard live on MIX 107.7. They’ll take on the Gilmer Buckeyes at Sulphur Springs high school.  Pre-game starts at 6:45 with tip off at 7. Detroit plays McLeod at Hughes Springs at 7pm. Roxton plays Saltillo at 7:30 at Cooper high school. And the Prairiland Patriots face off against Mt. Pleasant Chapel Hill at Mt. Pleasant high school’s Willie Williams gym.  Tip off tonight is at 8pm.

 

Mount Pleasant – Last night in the bi-district round of the boys high school basketball playoffs the Daingerfield Tigers advance after beating Chisum 58-35.  The high school basketball girls brackets bring two rival schools to the same court this evening. The Mt. Vernon Lady Tigers and Winnboro girls will square off in the regional quarterfinals with a trip to the regional tournament on the line. The match up between the two top 25 teams can be heard live on KLAKE 97.7 at Daingerfield high school.  Tip off is at 6pm. 

 

The Mt. Pleasant Tigers face the Lufkin Panthers to kick off the post season on Star 96.9.  The game site is at Tatum high school with tip off at 7pm. Following the Tigers,  the Chapel Hill Red Devils face off against Prairiland on KLAKE at Mt. Pleasant high school’s Willie Williams gym.  Tip off tomorrow is at 8pm.  Mt. Vernon will play the Hooks Hornets at 8pm at Hughes Springs. Rivercrest plays Big Sandy at Daingerfield high school at 8pm.

 

Sulphur Springs – The high school basketball brackets bring the two rivals schools to the same court.  Mt. The match up between the two top 25 teams can be heard live on KLAKE 97.7 at Daingerfield high school.  Tip off is at 6pm. 

 

Meanwhile, tonight North Hopkins will be up against Wolfe City at Commerce at 7:30.  The Commerce Tigers and Alba Golden square off. The game will be played tonight at 7:30 at Lone Oak high school. And the Mt. Vernon Tigers are at Hughes Springs high school against the Hooks Hornets.  Game time is set for 8pm. 

 

Tonight the Dallas Stars play one of back to back games against the Winnipeg Jets. The first game will be played on the road where the Stars are 17-9-6.  Overall, Dallas hockey has 80 points on the season and currently sit in 2nd place in the Western Conference.  Puck drop tonight in Canada is scheduled for 7pm.

 

David Lee could make his Dallas Mavericks Debut tomorrow night against the Oklahoma City Thunder.  Lee, who’s averaged over 14 points and 9 rebounds in his career, spend the first half of the season with the Boston Celtics.  Tip off tomorrow night is at 7:30.
