High School Basketball Plus ‘Bama Wins 14th Title

High school basketball teams are back on the hardwood tonight with many continuing district play.
Paris – The Prairiland Patriots look to continue their run at the postseason when they hit the road to take on Como-Pickton. The Chisum Mustangs will be at home to host Winnsboro. The North Lamar Pantherettes host Liberty Eylau while the Paris Lady Cats take on Pittsburg. In non-district action, the North Lamar Panthers travel to face the Princeton Panthers and the Paris Wildcats are up against Melissa.
Mount Pleasant – In a battle of early district supremacy, the Mt Vernon Tigers welcome in the Chapel Hill Red Devils. The action will start with the Mt. Vernon and Chapel Hill girls at 6:00 pm as the Lady Tigers look to bounce back to give the Lady Devils their first district loss followed by the unbeaten boys at 7:00. The Mt Pleasant Tigers look to keep their perfect district record intact as they hit the road for Texarkana to take on the Texas High Tigers.
Sulphur Springs – In a battle of early district supremacy, the Mt Vernon Tigers welcome in the Chapel Hill Red Devils. The action will start with the Mt Vernon and Chapel Hill girls at 6:00 pm as the Lady Tigers look to bounce back to give the Lady Devils their first district loss followed by the unbeaten boys at 7:00. Meanwhile, the Saltillo Lions are set to host Wolfe City this evening beginning at 7:00 pm as well.
The Dallas Mavericks look to stop a three-game skid tonight when they host the Orlando Magic at the American Airline Center. The Mavs enter the game with a lowly 13-28 record on the season, but the Magic have struggled as well at 12-28 and have lost four straight. Tip-off tonight at the A-A-C between the Mavs and Magic is set for 7:30.
The Dallas Cowboys have made several coaching moves, including bringing in former backup, Kellen Moore, to take over as quarterbacks coach.  Director of Player Personnel, Will McClay, has drawn interest from the Houston Texans and could be in the discussion as the next General Manager, however, McClay is expected to remain alongside Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys.
And the Alabama Crimson Tide come from behind in the second-half to beat the Georgia Bulldogs in overtime, 26-23. A swing in momentum to start the third-quarter surged Alabama to throw for 166 yards in the second-half. ‘Bama missed what would be the game-winning field goal at the end of regulation, but a 41-yard strike in OT gives Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide their fifth title in nine years.
