High School Basketball Scores and Matchups Plus Rangers First Game Tomorrow

Paris – The playoffs continue for Red River Valley high school basketball teams tonight and tomorrow.  The 14th ranked Paris Wildcats return to the court for an area round match up with Tyler Chapel Hill.  The game will be broadcast live from Wills Point High School on 101.9 KBUS.  Tip off this evening is at 7pm.  The Prairiland Patriots have made a schedule change.  Originally slated for 7:30, their game Elysian Fields at Lindale High School has been moved up to 7pm.  And the Rivercrest Rebels plays Celeste starting at 6:30 at Emory Rains.  Tomorrow night the 4th ranked Clarksville Tigers clash with Martins Mill at Wildcat Gym in Paris.  Tip off is set for 7pm.  Winners will advance to the regional quarterfinals.
Mount Pleasant – Area high schools are finding quite a bit of success in the basketball playoffs.  The Saltillo Lions move on, beating Dodd City last night 55-51.  Their next opponent will be Slidell. The Mt. Vernon Tigers advance to the regional quarterfinals after defeating 24th ranked Jefferson, 80-66.  The Mt. Vernon Lady Tigers and Winnsboro Lady Raiders prepare for the Class 3A Region 2 tournament at Rockwall Heath tonight.  The 14th ranked Lady Raiders open the evening against Alba-Golden at 6pm.  The 6th ranked Lady Tigers follow at 8pm against Pottsboro on Star 96.9.

The 24th ranked Mt. Pleasant boys are in round 2 against 19th ranked McKinney North on KLAKE 97.7.  Tip off is at 7:30.  Daingerfield plays Arp at 7pm at Spring Hill and the Chapel Hill Red Devils face White Oak in Hallsville at 7.
Sulphur Springs – Area high schools continue the post season in basketball.  The Saltillo Lions move on, beating Dodd City last night 55-51.  Their next opponent will be Slidell, who eliminated Sulphur Bluff 64-47. The Mt. Vernon Tigers advance to the regional quarterfinals after defeating 24th ranked Jefferson, 80-66.  They’ll play the winner of Prairiland and Elysian Fields.  Meanwhile, Ector ends Miller Grove’s season, 53-36.  The Mt. Vernon Lady Tigers and Winnsboro Lady Raiders prepare for the Class 3A Region 2 tournament at Rockwall Heath tonight.  The 14th ranked Lady Raiders open the evening against Alba-Golden at 6pm.  The 6th ranked Lady Tigers follow at 8pm against Pottsboro. The Sulphur Springs boys play Carrolton Creekview tonight at 7 at Rockwall High School.  Yantis faces Bellevue at McKinney Boyd High School at 6:30.  And Campbell takes to the court against Big Sandy at Emory Rains at 8.
The Dallas Mavericks make a deal prior to the NBA trade deadline yesterday.  The Mavs acquired big man, Nerlens Noel from the Philadelphia 76ers.  In exchange, Dallas sent 2nd year man Justin Anderson and veteran Center Andrew Bogut, along with a protected 1st round pick.  The Mavs also waived veteran Point Guard and DFW native, Deron Williams.  Dallas is back on the court tonight against Minnesota.  Tip off is at 7pm.
The Texas Rangers play their first spring game of the season tomorrow afternoon against the Kansas City Royals.  Martin Perez will get the first nod on the hill.  First pitch tomorrow is at 2:05.  Meanwhile, Josh Hamilton returned to camp yesterday after leaving on Wednesday with discomfort in his knee.  An MRI showed no structural damage.
