High School Football Tonight Plus Stars Fall to Kings

Paris – We’re coming down the home stretch of the high school football season in the Red River Valley. The North Lamar Panthers look to get on the right path to the post season tonight when they host Princeton at R. L. Maddox Stadium. The game can be heard live on MIX 107.7. The Paris Wildcats look to tighten their grip on the district lead when they host Quinlan Ford on 101.9 KBUS. And our KOYN Game of the Week will feature the Prairiland Patriots taking on the Whitewright Tigers. The Chisum Mustangs host Gunter. The Rivercrest Rebels visit Honey Grove. Clarksville hosts Maud. Detroit hosts Dallas Gateway and Cooper welcomes Leonard to Bulldog Stadium. Kickoff tonight is at 7:30.

Mount Pleasant – Tonight on KLAKE 97.7, the I-30 rivalry is rehashed as the Mt. Pleasant Tigers travel to Prim Stadium to take on the Sulphur Springs Wildcats. The Tigers at 1-3 and Sulphur Springs at 1-2 are both looking to jockey themselves back into the playoff conversation. Meanwhile, the Hughes Springs Mustangs are looking to do the same as they celebrate homecoming against the New Boston Lions for the Star Country Game of the Week on 96.9. The Pittsburg Pirates are at Pleasant Grove. Mt. Vernon will host Quitman. Paul Pewitt is at Hooks. Daingerfield is at Queen City and Gilmer is in Longview against Spring Hill. Kickoff tonight is at 7:30.

Sulphur Springs -Tonight on Star Country 95.9, the I-30 rivalry is rehashed as the Sulphur Springs Wildcats welcome the Mt. Pleasant Tigers to Prim Stadium. The Tigers at 1-3 and Sulphur Springs at 1-2 are both looking to jockey themselves back into the playoff conversation. The Commerce Tigers will host the Winnsboro Raiders. The Mt. Vernon Tigers, at 3-1, look to stay in the race for a district title. They’ll take on Quitman at home. The Cooper Bulldogs are 2-1, they’ll host unbeaten Leonard at Bulldog Stadium and the Emory Rains Wildcats are 1-1. They’ll be on the road at Wills Point and Como Pickton will host Edgewood. Kick off tonight is at 7:30.

Last night the Dallas Stars fall in overtime to the LA Kings 4-3. The Stars pick up a point in the loss, giving them five on the season with a 2-1-1 record. Jamie Benn and Jason Spezza led the Dallas attack with a goal apiece. Dallas will be back on the ice on Saturday at the A-A-C against Columbus. Puck drop is at 7.

The Dallas Mavericks wrap up the pre-season tonight on the road at Denver. The Mavs begin the regular season next week on Wednesday when they travel to visit the Indiana Pacers. Tip off this evening between the Mavs and Nuggets is set for 8pm.

And in the NLCS, the Chicago Cubs win game five over the LA Dodgers 8-4 to take a 3-2 series lead. The Cubs can punch their ticket to the world series in game six tomorrow night at 7.
