Hopkins County Health Care Foundation Donation to CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital – Sulphur Springs

Hopkins County Health Care Foundation recently fulfilled their donation to CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital – Sulphur Springs.   The Chairs of the 2016-2017 Lights of Life Campaign and Gala were Sher and Sam Sevier.  The campaign grossed over $350,000.

The funds raised at the 2016-2017 the Gala purchased these items:

  • 2 Giraffe OmniBeds for Nursery Department $76,584.00

The Giraffe OmniBeds is a combination system that brings together features of a traditional incubator and a radiant warmer that will serve both premature as well as full term newborns. These beds will support our Level II Special Care Nursery designation allowing our facility to care for almost all newborns born at greater than 32 weeks with a range of medical issues, rather than being transferred to other hospitals.

  • AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill

for Physical Medicine Department (Healthplex)                                  $46,537.00

Using NASA Differential Air Pressure technology, the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill comfortably supports the user and “unweights” them by as much as 80%. Benefits include reducing ground reaction forces, minimizing discomfort, creating safe environments to work on technique and allowing increased training with less impact.  Estimated to help 70% of the current rehabilitation patients and essential to those with spinal, hip and lower body issues, the machine will be available for rehabilitation patients.

Established in 1997, the Hopkins County Health Care Foundation was organized to secure funds from individuals, businesses and corporations, to provide, promote, maintain and improve the continual growth of CHRISTUS Mother Frances-Sulphur Springs to serve the area communities. With the generous contributions and support of friends, family, and neighbors, the Foundation is building a strong, long-term endowment, ensuring the advancement of health care for the future generations of Hopkins County. The Health Care Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization governed by an Independent Board of Directors.

Held annually, the Lights of Life campaign gala is the largest fundraiser – event for the Health Care Foundation. Although this most anticipated event is often oversold with waiting lists, preparation begins early to make every possible accommodation to meet an ever growing representation. The generosity of Hopkins County and the surrounding areas’ gracious donations continually exceed expectations in “Giving Back to the Community”. Donations are also accepted year-round, to “honor or remember” a special someone or “pay tribute” to a deceased friend or loved one. Contributions whether large or small, are always greatly appreciated. Bequests may be made through Will or Estate planning.

We encourage you, your business, or civic organization to become involved and be a part of the continued efforts of the Foundation, as we focus on the future of health care in Hopkins County.
