House Fire Destroys Powderly Home

A house in Powderly was destroyed by fire over the weekend. The fire apparently started after the family lit candles when they lost power because of the storms that roared through the area and then went to sleep. There were no human injuries in the blaze, but a dog failed to make it out of the house.
