Lamar County Sheriff’s Dept. Issues Scam Alert

Lamar County deputies are investigating after a scammer claiming to work for Amazon called a Lamar County woman and told her that the TV she ordered online was a cash-on-delivery-item. The intended victim told the scammer she hadn’t ordered a TV and the scammer then told her he needed her email to cancel the order. The scammer called from a 315 area code.
