Coach Cassi Rozanski

LONGVIEW, Texas – LeTourneau University has announced Cassi Rozanski as its new head women’s basketball coach, as announced July 13 by the director of athletics Terri Deike. Rozanski will officially begin her duties with LeTourneau University on Monday (Jul 17).

We are very excited to announce that Cassi Rozanski has accepted the head women’s basketball coaching position at LeTourneau University” said Athletic Director Terri Deike. “I have known Cassi and her family for years and had the pleasure of working with her in the women’s basketball program at UT Tyler.”

Before joining the YellowJacket family, Rozanski spent the last year last year at Rogers State University in Claremore, Oklahoma where she was an admissions counselor for international students.

Rozanski brings eight years of coaching experience to LETU, with her most recent position coming at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley where she spent the 2015-16 season as the coordinator of men’s basketball operations. In her role with the Vaqueros’, Rozanski was one of just seven women in a NCAA Division I men’s basketball staff and was part of the only husband-wife duo on a NCAA Division I men’s basketball coaching staff.

No stranger to the American Southwest Conference, Rozanski spent her first seven years in coaching as an assistant coach at ASC rival University of Texas-Tyler, where she helped lead the Patriots to the NCAA Division III Sweet 16 for the first time in program history. Rozanski’s spent the first two years with the Patriots under the guidance of head coach and current LeTourneau University athletic director Terri Deike, which included an ASC East Regular-Season Championship during the 2007-08 season.

A native of Groesbeck, Texas, Rozanski was a four-year starter for the University of Texas-Dallas, where she set five career records (blocks, rebounds, free throws, field goal percentage, and field goals) and one single-season record (field goal percentage) for the Comets. Currently, Rozanski is still in the top 10 in career rebounds and blocked shots at UT Dallas.

Rozanski obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas-Dallas in 2006 and a Master of Education in Health and Kinesiology from Texas-Tyler in 2012.

A press conference to formally introduce both Rozanski and newly hired Sports Information Director Matthew Kinney will take place next week.
