Locals Hope to Play Plus Hamels and Odor Power Rangers to Third Straight Win

Paris – Area teams will be looking to get back on the field in high school baseball and softball this weekend. Tomorrow night the Prairiland Patriots are scheduled to play one of two weekend games when they host Redwater, followed by a Saturday contest against Hooks. Both games are scheduled for 7:30. Also, Friday night, on MIX 107.7 the North Lamar Panthers host the Liberty Eylau Leopards beginning at 6:30. The Paris Wildcats will be in Texarkana to face the Pleasant Grove Hawks at 6. Paris and North Lamar are anticipating making up the Crosstown Showdown on Saturday.

Mount Pleasant – Area teams will be looking to get back on the field in high school baseball and softball. The Mt. Pleasant Lady Tigers are scheduled to be in Longview tonight to make up Tuesday’s contest against Pine Tree. First pitch this evening is at 6pm. Mt. Pleasant baseball and softball will continue district 15-5A play tomorrow as well against Longview. The Chapel Hill Red Devils and Lady Devils will host the Hughes Springs Mustangs and Lady Mustangs on Friday. The Pittsburg Pirates will be on the road against Atlanta. And the Mt. Vernon will host Daingerfield.

Sulphur Springs – Area teams will be looking to get back on the field in high school baseball and softball tomorrow night. The Sulphur Springs Lady cats will wrap up the district season at home against Pine Tree at home before beginning the post season. The Sulphur springs baseball team will be in Longview against the Pirates. The Mt. Vernon Lady Tigers host Daingerfield to finish the regular season. And the Winnsboro Red Raiders will be on the road to visit Quitman. Post season action for area softball teams will begin with the Bi-District round on April 30th.

Last night in Major League Baseball the Texas Rangers outduel Houston on the mound 2-1. Cole Hamels gets his 3rd win of the season and he has Roogie Odor to thank. The Rangers and Astros conclude their first series of the season this evening [on KPLT 1490am and 96.3fm]. First pitch is at 7:05.

The Dallas Stars go up three games to one in the opening round of the Stanley Cup playoffs after a 3-2 win over the Minnesota Wild. Alex Hemski, Patrick Eaves and Jason Spezza netted the goals for Dallas. Game five is in Dallas tomorrow at 8:30.

And the Dallas Mavericks take on the OKC Thunder in game three of the NBA playoffs tonight. The opening round series is currently tied at one game apiece. Tip off this evening is at 6pm.
