Major Gas Leak Forces School Closings

Mt Pleasant and Mt Vernon Superintendents say a major gas line has broken causing schools to canceled in both districts for Wednesday. Also closed today are the Winfield, Harts Bluff, and Chapel Hill Mt Pleasant school districts. Northeast Texas Community College is open. Centerpoint Energy is at the scene working on repairing the line. However, for the next 24-72 hours part of Pittsburg, all of Mt Pleasant, Mt Vernon, Winfield, and Talco will be without gas.
