The Paris City Council will meet tonight at 5:30 and citizens will have a chance to provide their opinions the proposed November election, where they will decide whether to continue funding the PEDC with tax dollars. PEDC Executive Director Michael Paris will address the council and ask that the election be postponed until a large cross section of the community, including, government, business, education and citizens can define what constitutes success and quality of life for Paris, including economic development. The agenda also calls for the council to discuss and act on an ordinance authorizing the issuance of the city’s general obligations bonds.
