Wednesday evening after 9:00 Paris Police arrested Todd Schmidt, 55, in the 1600-block of E Sherman after a traffic stop. They found Schmidt intoxicated and while driving. Due to previous convictions for the same offense, they enhanced his charge to a felony.
A person reported a fraud to the Police Department Wednesday morning. An unknown suspect allegedly used the complainant’s identifying information in an attempt to open credit accounts.
Officers worked a theft in the 2400-block of Bonham Street. An unknown suspect entered the complainant’s residence and took a .45 caliber handgun.
A person reported another fraud in the 2200-block of Clarksville Street. Reportedly an unknown suspect had passed a counterfeit $100 bill during a transaction at the business.
Owners reported theft last night after 10:00 in the 1300-block of Clarksville. A possible known suspect had taken cash and other items from the complainant and then fled on foot.
Paris Police responded to 99 calls for service and arrested five persons over the past 24 hours ending at 6:00 am on Thursday (Mar 22).
