Prominent East Texas Coach Reaches Settlement With Former District

Former Troup High School Head Football Coach Dennis Alexander reached a $200,000 settlement in his lawsuit against the district stemming from his suspension and termination following an incident where he allegedly struck a player. Alexander denied that the incident ever happened. During his 44-year career, Alexander also coached at Hughes Springs, Henderson, and Harleton and won a state championship during his 13 years at Daingerfield.
