Rangers Clobbered in Baltimore Plus Zeke Troubles Continue

Last night the Texas Rangers get walloped, 12-1. The only Rangers’ run of the night came off the bat of Shin-Soo Choo. The Rangers fall to 45-48 on the season, 3.5 games out of a Wildcard spot in the American League. Texas and Baltimore play game three of four tonight at Camden Yards. First pitch [on KPLT 1490am and 96.3fm] is set for 6:05.

The Dallas Mavericks and restricted free agent big man Nerlens Noel remain very far apart in contract negotiations.  Noel has a qualifying offer of $4.2 Million on the table from the Mavs. His agent, Happy Walters, says they’re disappointed where negotiations stand and that his client loves Dallas, but will continue to wait for a serious offer.  Should Noel sign before October 1, he can become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2018 season. If Noel elects not to sign and no other teams have submitted an offer sheet, the $4.2 million pushes through and he’ll become a restricted free agent once again next season. Noel played 22 games last season for the Mavs after acquiring him from Philadelphia.

Less than a week away from the start of Training Camp, Dallas Cowboys running back, Zeke Elliott, continues to try to clear his name from an incident at a Dallas bar Sunday night that resulted in the club’s DJ suffering a broken nose. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says the leading rusher in 2016 can help himself by learning to cope with super stardom. Elliott has not officially been listed as a suspect by police. First practice in Oxnard, California is July 24.
