Last night the Texas Rangers win their third straight game and did so in walk-off fashion 7-6 over the Oakland A’s. Bottom 9, two outs, down by a run with a man on and Adrian Beltre ends it like they do in the movies, hitting a walk-off two run homer. With the win and an Astros loss the Rangers have a 3.5 game lead in the AL West and a 58-42 record overall. The Rangers and Astros play another tonight at Globe Life Park in Arlington. First pitch [on KPLT 1490am and 96.3fm] is set for 7:05.

In the NBA the Cleveland Cavaliers and head coach, Tyronn Lue, have agreed to a 5-year extention. The first four years of the contract are fully guaranteed while the 5th year being a team option. Lue, who was amongst the NBA’s highest paid assistants before taking over for David Blatt mid-way through the season, led Cleveland along with LeBron James to the franchise first NBA title.

And in the NFL Cleveland Brown and former Baylor Bears wide receiver, Josh Gordon, has been reinstated with conditions by commissioner Roger Goodell. After being suspended a total of 29 games since 2013 for violating the leagues substance abuse policy, including the entire 2015 season, Gordon will be allowed to partake in team activities, but will likely be suspended the first four games of the 2016 season.

Meanwhile, we continue the countdown to Dallas Cowboys training camp. In two days the ‘boys arrive in Oxnard, California and will begin practice on Friday, July 30th.
