Rangers Win Plus Cowboys Stand By Decision

The Texas Rangers blast the Miami Marlins, 10-4. The Rangers launched four homers on the night to lift the offense. Two coming off the bat of Joey Gallo, including a bomb into the upper deck. The Rangers and Marlins play the rubber match of their three-game set tonight at Globe Life Park in Arlington. First pitch [on KPLT 1490am and 96.3fm] is set for 7:05.
The wild start to Dallas Cowboys training camp continued yesterday with lots of Cowboys news, both good and questionable. Dallas had cut wide receiver, Lucky Whitehead, yesterday after they were informed of a warrant out for his arrest relating to a June 22 theft in Virginia. Reports came in today, however, the police misidentified the perpetrator and cleared Whitehead’s name. Head coach, Jason Garrett, stands by the move to release Lucky.
Two positives come out of Cowboys camp. Right Tackle, La’el Collins, signed a two-year, $16 million extension. The third-year man out of LSU played his first two seasons at left guard but is making the transition to tackle to fill the void left by Doug Free’s retirement.
Third round rookie cornerback, Jourdan Lewis, will join the team after being found not guilty on domestic violence charges. Dallas noted they drafted the defensive back out of Michigan after thorough legal research and felt he would be exonerated.
And the United States Men’s National Soccer Team takes to the pitch tonight in the finals of El Cupo Oro against Jamaica. Match time is set for 8:30.
