The Bees’ Future Is Our Future. Bee “Colony collapse disorder” has contributed to a loss of about 30% of pollinators each year for the last decade. This serious issue affects everyone. Farmers can’t grow the crops we need if we don’t protect the Bees that Pollinate them.

Talented artists will help Save Our Bees through education and awareness. Local beekeeper Bill Zimmer from Texas Gold supplied local artists with beehives, honey. Bill Zimmer has been instrumental in educating the community through his sponsorship of this art contest.
The beehives will be on display Saturdays at the Farmers’ Market on June 4, 11, and 18, 2016 from 8:00 am until Noon. They will also be on display weekdays and Sundays until June 17 at the Winnsboro Center for the Arts on Market and Broadway.

The public can vote for their favorite each Saturday at the Farmers’ Market or when they are on display at the Winnsboro Center for the Arts. The Texas State Honey Queen or Princess winners and cash prices announcement is Saturday (Jun 18) at farmers’ market. There will be an artist’s reception at the Winnsboro Center for the Arts at 2:00 pm on
Sunday (Jun 5) featuring the artists and their bee hives. Refreshments and honey tasting provided and open to the public.
