Chumley, Faaiu, and Osei to play in Dream Bowl V on Monday, January 16
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Three Texas A&M University-Commerce football players have been invited to play in the 2017 Dream Bowl all-star game, as announced this week. Chris Chumley, Tavita Faaiu, and Jason Osei will play in Dream Bowl V on Monday, January 16.
Faaiu – a first team all-Lone Star Conference defensive lineman from San Francisco, Calif. – played in 12 games as a senior for the Lions, leading the team with eight sacks, which ranked second in the LSC. He also had 12 tackles for loss, which led the team and tied for 8th in the LSC. He recorded five other quarterback hits and had 33 total tackles on the season.
Osei – a second team all-Lone Star Conference offensive lineman from London, England – was a leader on the Lions’ offensive line for two seasons, blocking for a 1,000-yard rusher in each season. The Lions allowed only five sacks in the 2016 season.
Chumley – an honorable mention all-Lone Star Conference tight end from Longview – finished his A&M-Commerce career with 27 catches for 331 yards and two touchdowns in 23 games. He averaged 12.3 yards per catch in his career over his two seasons.
