TRMC Week

Titus Regional Medical Center Celebrates “TRMC Week.”

July 24-29, 2017

Titus Regional Medical Center has a rich history, which began as a concept in the summer of 1949 when a hospital committee of private citizens formed. An election, held in November of
1950, approved the bonds for construction of a 32-bed hospital in association with the Federal Government under the
Hill-Burton Act. Mrs. J.H. Goates donated the property for the hospital in 1950, and in December 1953. Titus County Memorial Hospital opened with a capacity of 32 beds, a medical staff of six physicians and 30 employees.

Today, Titus Regional Medical Center is a 174-bed facility, a robust medical staff of 74 physicians and mid-level
providers are representing 21 specialties and 700 employees serving Northeast Texans.

Keith Luker, Senior Director of Facilities & Support Services.
“We are celebrating TRMC this week to recognize everyday heroes.”
“Titus Regional Medical Center has been growing our service lines, such as cardiac, orthopedics along with primary care to enhance the care and well-being of those in the communities we serve on a daily basis.”
“I believe that the staff at TRMC are committed to helping each person who has been seen as a patient or visiting a loved one in our health care system of their choice.”
“While most people think of the hospital or clinics as doctors and nurses, there are much more who make up this broad approach to health care. Such as the staff who clean the patient rooms, or those who come in early to make sure meals are prepared not just for the patients, but staff as well. An
analogy I have given to my team at times is this- ‘A brick wall is only as strong as the mortar that binds the bricks together; it takes all of us to make a solid wall.’ So this week we want to thank everyone who encompasses our hospital system to give you, the patient, the care each of you deserves.”

TRMC was named The Northeast Texas Workforce Solutions (NETWS) Large Employer of the Year Award in 2016.

The Northeast Texas Workforce Solutions (NETWS) Large Employer of the Year Award honors a large employer
whose efforts and initiatives have had an extraordinary effect on the state of Texas, other employers, workers, and
the communities in which the employer does business.

NETWS SELECTED Titus Regional Medical Center (TRMC) due to our involvement in local workforce development with Northeast Texas Community College, Paris Jr. College, and all local high schools. TRMC has had a positive impact on the local economy by expanding primary care capacity, opening a heart catheterization lab, expanding our heart and vascular capabilities, and expanding and updating our critical care capacity. Our growth has resulted in additional medical careers and several million dollars of construction jobs for our local workforce.

TRMC also contributes to our community by hosting and facilitating community Lunch and Learn sessions and
community health fairs throughout each year. Through these and other efforts, TRMC has become your health system of choice, dedicated to healing and well-being through a culture of excellence and compassion, and we are honored to be the NETWS Large Employer of the Year.
