PJC 100th Anniversary Homecoming

 

Official Homecoming events begin with the First Annual Dragon Golf Tournament, with check-in starting at 9:00 am at the Paris Golf and Country Club on FM 195 in Paris. All proceeds will benefit Dragon athletics, including baseball, softball, men’s and women’s basketball, and soccer.

At 6:00 pm on Friday, November 1, the McLemore Student Center Ballroom will host the Hall of Honor/Hall of Fame Induction and Reception. They will induct the 2013 PJC softball team into the Athletic Hall of Fame and Don Kosterman and Sheila Reece (posthumous) into the Academic Hall of Honor.

PJC’s Homecoming Parade starts a full slate of events on Saturday, November 2, leaving from the Lamar County Courthouse north parking lot at 10:00 am. Local high school student organizations and groups are welcome to join the parade; contact PJC Student Life Director Kenneth Webb at [email protected] for more information.

The Love Civic Center will be the site of the Distinguished Alumni Awards Reunion Luncheon, starting at noon. All formerly recognized Distinguished Alumni honorees and their families will be celebrated as we recognize these outstanding individuals who were honored in years past. They will provide complimentary reserved seating and tickets.

A special Homecoming Tailgate will begin at 2:30 pm in the Hunt Center parking lot. Philip Nance will perform during the tailgate, thanks to a sponsorship by Unruh Concrete Pumping.

The Hunt Center is also the location of the women’s and men’s basketball games against Southwestern Christian College at 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm. The Homecoming King and Queen crowning is at halftime of the men’s game.

Country music singer Clay Hollis will perform at the Love Civic Center that evening at 8:30 pm. Tickets are $10 at the door, and those with a valid PJC ID may enter for free.

Paris Junior College invita a todos los exalumnos a volver a casa para el fin de semana de exalumnos del 100 aniversario y la celebración de regreso a casa el viernes y sábado, 1 y 2 de noviembre. El Carnaval de Halloween de PJC en el Estadio Noyes se llevará a cabo de 5:30 a 7:00 pm el jueves 31 de octubre, pero no es oficialmente parte de Homecoming. Sin embargo, los exalumnos pueden traer a sus familias al evento gratuito.

El Centro Cívico del Amor es el sitio del almuerzo de reunión de los Premios a los Exalumnos Distinguidos a partir del mediodía. Todos los homenajeados de Ex Alumnos Distinguidos anteriormente reconocidos y sus familias serán homenajeados mientras reconocemos a estas personas sobresalientes que fueron honradas en años anteriores. Proporcionarán asientos reservados y boletos de cortesía.
