The North Lamar High School Marching Band has earned the title of UIL Conference 4A Texas State Marching Band Champion.

“Another awesome performance from our NORTH LAMAR PANTHER BAND!!” said Dennis Hodgkiss in a message sent out in a high school text message.

Accolades quickly followed in emails between the District.

“STATE CHAMPIONS!!!!” announced parent and teacher Sonja Carter.

Principal Claudia Pursifull followed with, “Congratulations to our State Champions!  So proud of our NL Band!!!”

“So proud of our North Lamar band!!!” added Yolanda Lasenbby.

Everett librarian Lynnette Johnson replied, “I love the band.  We welcome you back State Champs.”

Karen Elliott added, “Yea!!!  That is awesome!!  Way to go NLHS BAND!!”

Fans will gather to greet the band at the high school as they return home Tuesday night around 9:00 PM.  After unloading the buses, the band directors will move the students to the gym where they will be recognized for their accomplishment and drape medals on each student.

“This will be every emotional for students,” said NLHS Associate Band Director Jason R. Smith.  “The medals are way too cool!”
