High School Soccer Plus Rangers Head Back to Texas

Paris – The high school soccer playoffs continue tonight with the Area Round.  The Paris Wildcats look to advance.  Their opponent will be A+ Academy at Greenville’s Cotton Ford Stadium.  Match time tomorrow night is at 7:30. The Paris Wildcat baseball team looks to get back on track against Atlanta at Hub Hollis Field.  The game can be heard live on 101.9 KBUS.  North Lamar baseball looks to make it two straight when they face Pittsburg.  The Pantherette’s are in a 1st place showdown with the Lady Pirates. Both games will be on MIX 107.7. Softball begins at 6pm. Baseball follows at 7:30.
Mount Pleasant – The high school soccer playoffs continue with the Area Round.  The Mt. Pleasant Tigers look to continue their postseason success when they meet up with Carrollton Creekview.  The game will be played at Royse City High School. Match time tomorrow is at 7pm.  The Chapel Hill Red Devil soccer team will step on the pitch in the post-season for the first time in the programs history tomorrow night.  Coach Francisco Medina and his club will be up against reigning state champion, Palestine at Tyler’s Rose Stadium.  Match time tomorrow between Chapel Hill and Palestine is set for 7.
Sulphur Springs – The Sulphur Bluff Bears enjoyed a blowout win, 16-6, over rival Saltillo earlier this week.  The Bears hit the road for another rivalry game tomorrow when they visit Miller Grove.  Saltillo will look to bounce back against Yantis.The Cumby Lady Trojans found district success in a 17-1 win over the Roxton Lady Lions.  With a 4-4 district mark, Cumby softball will visit Bland tomorrow afternoon at 4:30. Sulphur Springs baseball and softball defeated one I-30 rival on Tuesday, notching wins over Mt. Pleasant.  Tomorrow the Wildcat baseball team visits Greenville, while the Lady Cats host the Lady Lions.
The Texas Rangers are ready to wrap up spring ball this weekend.  Starting Pitcher Dillon Gee made a strong case to be added to the rotation after throwing six shutout innings, giving up two hits and striking out nine in 0-0 tie with Kansas city.  Texas plays KC again tonight.  Opening day is Monday against Cleveland.
Last night the Dallas Mavericks fall to the New Orleans Pelicans, 121-118.  The loss puts Dallas in last place in the Southwest standings with eight games left.
Russell Westbrook, meanwhile, continues his march to the NBA record books by recording his 38th triple double of the season in Oklahoma City’s 114-106 win over Orlando.  Westbrook’s astounding stat line reads 57 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists, his 2nd 50 point triple double of the season.  The leading MVP candidate is now 3 triple doubles away from Oscar Robertson’s record with eight games remaining.
