On Saturday (Sep 16), MADD North Texas will host Walk Like MADD & MADD Dash 5k. MADD National CEO Debbie Weir will be in attendance.
In 2016, drunk driving crashes killed more than 3,700 people in Texas. Nationwide, drunk driving took nearly 10,000 lives and injured another 290,000 people in drunk driving accidents. Walk Like MADD gives victims and survivors a safe place to remember their loved ones, and help raise mission-critical funds to help save lives and serve victims in the Fort Worth area.
Funds raised through Walk Like MADD help further MADD’s lifesaving mission and the Campaign to Eliminate Drunk Driving, which calls for high-visibility law enforcement, ignition interlocks or “in-car breathalyzers” for all convicted drunk drivers and support for the development of advanced technology. Funds also go directly to supporting the services we provide for victims of this 100 percent preventable crime.
But we need help letting the public know about this event to support the life-changing work we do every day. Please let me know if you are interested in running this PSA.
