Eight-hundred and twenty new laws went into effect in Texas on September 1. Among the new laws: Gunowners will now be allowed to openly carry weapons after natural disasters and schools will be prohibited from banning guns stored in locked vehicles; brass knuckles are no longer prohibited weapons; the legal age for smoking cigarettes and vaping was raised to 21; children can sell non-alcoholic beverages at stands on private property, or in public parks. Craft beer can be sold to go, and beer and wine can now be delivered.
