Abbott Asks Biden For Texas Disaster Designation

Governor Greg Abbott has sent a letter to President Biden requesting a Presidential Disaster Declaration for counties in Texas that suffered damage during the ice storm earlier this month. The initial survey by the state shows that local government agencies have reported more than $63 million worth of damage to public infrastructure, including local electricity infrastructure. The Governor’s request includes Delta, Hopkins, Hunt, Lamar Red River, and 18 other counties.
