Abbott Clamps Down On Large Number of Ballot Drop Off Boxes

Governor Abbott has ordered the closure of all ballot drop-off sites but one per county. His proclamation also requires early voting clerks to allow for poll watchers. Abbott says these enhanced security protocols will ensure greater transparency and will help stop attempts at illegal voting. Texas Democratic Party chairman Gilberto Hinojosa called it another example of voter suppression and said the party is considering legal action.
