Abbott Delivers State Of The State Address

Republican Gov. Greg Abbott gave his “State of the State” address Monday night and said Texas is on a comeback from a pandemic that has killed more than 36,000 people here. Abbott declared five emergency items: Expanding broadband access, passing laws that prevent cities from defunding the police fixing the bail system, and election integrity. Democrats used their rebuttal to attack Abbott’s handling of the pandemic, saying an uneven response continues to leave cities and counties powerless to manage outbreaks.
