Abbott Signs Safe Outdoor Dog Act

Governor Abbott has signed the Safe Outdoor Dogs Act, which will go into effect on January 18. The new law requires dogs left outside to have protection from the elements and a shelter that allows them room to turn around and lie down. In addition, dogs can’t be tied up and left unattended unless they have adequate protection, shade, and drinking water.
