Abbott Urged To Declare Invasion

Some are pushing Governor Abbott to declare this surge of illegal immigration as an “invasion” as a way to put more pressure on the White House. But experts don’t believe he’ll act before the November election. SMU political analyst Cal Jillson says that if the Governor takes a stance, it also gives ammunition to his opponents. So a group of South Texas Republicans declared an invasion. They believe it can invoke war powers, giving cops the ability to enforce immigration law. It’s been tried many times before and failed.
