Abbott Wants To Expand Rio Grande Buoy Program

The floating buoys in the Rio Grande are working so well that Governor Greg Abbott has expansion plans. But El Paso County Commissioner David Stout says that would make a dangerous river even more difficult. He says migrants won’t just turn around when confronted by the string of floating buoys. Instead, he says, they’ll risk their lives to cross. The Biden administration brought a lawsuit over the project.
