About Those Runaway June Harmonies in Today’s Nashville Roundup

Blake Shelton says taping episodes of ”The Voice” without Adam Levine is odd. “It worries me not having Adam there. He’s just been there from the beginning. It would freak me out if [host] Carson [ Daly ] left. We were the three that have been there all along, and it’s just odd, to be honest with you. The one thing that makes it better, and okay, is that they brought Gwen in. And it’s not just because of [our] relationship. It’s because she’s a veteran… and she’s familiar with it and gets it. And that made me feel better.”

The Tennessean claims Chris Young has become a brand ambassador for Tequila Comisario. He says, “I’m so proud to be working with Comisario Tequila. It’s exciting to be a small part of their growth in the marketplace, and it’s truly the finest tequila I’ve ever had.”

Runaway June’s Naomi Cooke tells “Belles And Gals” that people sometimes think the group members are related because of their perfect harmonies. “When we started writing songs, we all started singing in our natural register, and it’s funny because people even tell us we talk in harmony, because Jen has this high soft voice, Ii’m in this mid range, and Hannah has this very rich, low voice. So, we just started singing like that, but we all remember being in the room and singing in those registers and being like, ‘Woah, our voices really blend in a cool way.’ I mean, you can have three good singers and their voices don’t always blend and it really did, kind of like family vocals. It just kind of happened like that naturally.”

Luke Combs tells Forbes magazine that he likes playing big venues over chicken restaurants. “It’s been awesome to have gotten to do all of this. To go from playing a chicken wing restaurant in Asheville, the Wild Wing Cafe, to selling out PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte where I used to go see concerts when I was a kid is absolutely mind-blowing. Having 20,000 people buy tickets, that is insane to me.”

Carrie Underwood tells Redbook magazine that she’s disappointing to meet in real life. “I love being onstage, but that’s different. That’s not Carrie. That’s Carrie Underwood. The rest of my life I feel like I’m incredibly disappointing to people. Like if I run into someone at the grocery store, I really don’t know what to say because I don’t have a microphone in my hand or bling on.”

Dan+Shay star Shay Mooney tells People magazine that Dan Smyers is his best friend. “We complete the missing pieces that each other have and we’re able to bounce energy off of each other. If you’re by yourself and you’re traveling the world, it can get really tiring, but we get to do that with our best friends.”
