Air Force Ordered To Pay Huge Settlement In Sutherland Springs Church Massacre

A court ordered the Air Force to pay $230 million to the survivors and families of those killed in the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs. It is because the Air Force failed to flag gunman Devin Patrick Kelley’s 2012 assault-related court-martial in the FBI database that would have blocked Kelley from legally buying the weapon. The Department of Justice had proposed a settlement of just over $30 million.
