AL Takes All Star Game Plus Countdown Begins for Cowboys

The American League representative will have home field advantage in the 2016 World Series thanks to the AL All-Stars 4-2 win last night over the NL All-Stars in the Mid-Summer Classic. It was the Kansas City Royals providing the pop as Kansas City 1st baseman Eric Hosmer and Catcher Salvador Perez each had a home run and two RBI. Hosmer was named the All-Star MVP. Cleveland Indians pitcher and Dallas Native Corey Kluber picked up the win on the mound. Meanwhile, Texas Rangers pitcher Cole Hamels threw one scoreless inning in the 3rd. The Rangers return to action on Friday against the Chicago Cubs.

Stage 12 of the Tour De France will take place today. Christopher Froome of Great Britain continues to lead the pack as the cyclists will travel over 162 Kilometers through Carcassonne and Montpellier, France. Stage 13 will be a shorter ride in distance, but will test the strength of the riders as they travel 37 kilometers through the mountains in Bourg-Saint-Andeol and La Caverne du Pont-D’Arc.

College football media days are in full swing with several dominating headlines. Discussions with coaches from the SEC to the Big 12 included the potential for Myles Garrett of the Texas A&M Aggies potential to lead the nation in sacks. Nick Chubb of the Georgia Bulldogs being healthy for the season opener. And Baylor’s KD Cannon’s recovery from successful arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. The NCAA Football season begins on August 26th when Cal takes on Hawaii.

And we can begin the countdown to Dallas Cowboys training camp in Oxnard, California. In 15 days, on the 29th, the ‘Boys will arrive. Camp officially begins on July 30th.
