AL Takes All-Star Game Plus Mavs Summer League Results

 

In the Major League Baseball All-Star Game, the American League wins over the National League, 2-1 in the 10th inning. Mariners 2nd baseman, Robinson Cano, belted a solo home run in the top half of the 10th. Craig Kimbrel of the Boston Red Sox collects the win. Andrew Miller of the Cleveland Indians pitched a scoreless frame in the 10th for the save.
Last night the Dallas Mavericks improve to 3-0 in the Summer League after beating the Miami Heat, 78-73. Second-year man, Yogi Ferrell, dropped in 23 points, while rookie Guard, Dennis Smith Jr., dropped in 16, with five assists, three rebounds, and three steals. Smith remains the only top 10 draft selection unsigned to his rookie contract.
The Men’s Singles Quarterfinals are set at Wimbledon. Top-ranked Andy Murray advances to take on 24th ranked Sam Querrey. Simultaneously, No. 7 Marin Cilic will be up against 16th ranked Gilles Muller, who defeated Rafael Nadal in the 4th round. Meanwhile, 2nd ranked Novak Djokovic takes on No. 11, Tomas Berdych and 3rd ranked Roger Federer faces No. 6 Milos Raonic.
In the women’s semi-finals, 6th ranked Johanna Konta takes on No. 10, Venus Williams. Fourteenth-ranked Garbine Muguruza plays Magdalena Rybarikova for a shot at the finals.
And the Tour De France continues with stage 11. Riders will travel through Eymet and Pau. Chris Froome of Great Brittan continues to lead the pack.
