Announcement From Sulphur Springs ISD’s Transportation Department

Effective Monday, September 16, Sulphur Springs ISD’s Transportation Department will only provide before and after-school bus services for students to and from their residences or designated bus stops. Public school districts in the state of Texas receive funds allotted for the transportation of students from home to school or from school to home. Schools cannot use these funds to transport students to a destination other than their residence or designated bus stop.

Sometimes, a student may qualify for transportation to a grandparent’s residence. However, the school cannot drop off students at a parent’s workplace, dance class, or medical appointment. Not only are transportation costs not allowable for reimbursement, but they also pose a safety hazard for our students.
