Anticipated Changes Coming To Downtown Paris

On Monday, March 2, the City of Paris will begin resurfacing the streets in downtown. It will require that the parking in front of any given business to be blocked for two to three days while work is underway.

The contractor will mill off the existing surface, then place the new asphalt the following day, weather permitting.

Temporary striping will be used until all streets are resurfaced and permanent striping can be installed.

Also coming to downtown on March 9 is the Texas Capital Fund Main Street sidewalk replacement project on north main and Houston Streets. Sidewalk will be replaced on both sides of N. Main and south side of W. Houston Street across from the Lamar County Courthouse. The City of Paris was awarded the grant in 2019. Bump-outs, street trees, and pedestrian crosswalks will be added in the corners in the near future.

Please be aware of traffic control within the work area.  Your continued patience is appreciated. Good things are happening in downtown Paris, Texas.
