Appeals Court Upholds Life Sentence Of NE Texas Man

The Sixth Court of Appeals in Texarkana has upheld the life sentence of a Northeast Texas man convicted in Bowie County for Felon In Possession of a Firearm. Officials arrested Terry Thomas, 56, in New Boston in September 2016 following a traffic stop for not wearing a seatbelt. Bullets were later found in his pocket and a derringer was discovered in his vehicle. Thomas had an extensive criminal history.
