Appellate Court Denies Appeal From One Of “Texas Seven”

One of the last two surviving Texas Seven prison escapees has just been turned down by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. Patrick Henry Murphy, Jr., is scheduled for execution Nov. 13. Murphy was the getaway car driver when Irving Police Officer Aubrey Hawkins was killed in December 2001 during a robbery at the Oshman’s sporting goods store.
