Appellate Court Upholds NE Texas Murder Conviction

The Sixth Court of Appeals in Texarkana is upholding the capital murder conviction of a Northeast Texas man. The court found 21-year-old Anthony Wilson, Jr., of Bowie County, guilty of the 2016 killing of Casey Smith and sentenced him to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Attorneys for Wilson claimed that instructions to the jury were flawed and could have led to him being convicted on a lesser charge.
