Appellate Court Upholds Sentence For Man Who Punched Officer

The Sixth Court of Appeals in Texarkana has upheld the ten-year prison sentence and $5,000 fine handed down to a Big Sandy man who assaulted a police officer. Upshur County prosecutors say Thomas Carroll punched a Big Sandy officer in the face while they placed under him under arrest for Public Intoxication. Carroll was on probation at the time of the incident.
